Munster Senior Football Club League

St. Nicks vs Oola (Limerick)

The Munster club league campaign got off to an excellent start in Limerick last Sunday when we proved to strong for Oola. There was just a point between the sides at half time, St Nicks led 0-4 to 0-3, but in truth it should have been a lot more as we missed several good chances, Niall Harte, Barry Leahy and Robert Brosnan were among the scorers. It was a different story in the second half and while we did miss a number of good opportunites the outcome was never in any doubt. Paul o Brien and Robert Brosnan dominated in midfield, Ray Considine, Stephen Hackett and Miceal Monahan were in control in defence, and the scores duly arrived. Eoghan Geaney, Shane Kennefick, Niall Byrnes all added points and Kevin Murphys late goal sealed an emphatic win. The full team was; Peter Cuthbert, Con OHalloran, Ray Considine, Stephen Hackett, Shane Kennefick, Emmett Considine, Miceal Monahan, Paul OBrien, Robert Brosnan, Niall Harte, Niall Byrnes, Tadgh Murphy, Barry Leahy, David Goggin and Eoghan Geaney. Subs used were: Liam Leahy, Paul Kingston, Gavin Moylan and Kevin Murphy.

The second game in the group is at home to Youghal on Sunday January 27th at 2.30 p.m. and with Youghal having won in Kerry at the weekend as well, a win would go along way to enhancing our chances of a semi-final spot.
